Welcome

If you will indulge me for a moment, I would like to share a story with you from when I was a kid.  When I was eight years old my mom and dad split up, mainly because my dad had a drug and alcohol addiction. Even though my dad tried to get some help after he and my mom split up, sadly he took his own life when I was the age of fourteen.  During my early teenage years, before and shortly after my dad died, I was most definitely heading down the wrong path, until a man named Bert entered my life.  I had started visiting a youth group in the area in which I lived and from the first time I started visiting the church, Bert took it upon himself to start pouring into my life, and because of his investment in me, my life would begin to go down a path that I would have never envisioned.  Fast forward thirty years and I can honestly say that 80% of my life experiences that I have had can be traced back to the influence that Bert had on my life and the time he spent pouring into me as a teenager.

Our communities all over the nation and throughout the world are filled with teenage boys who need those male influences to pour into their lives, like Bert poured into mine. But that’s not all!  I often wonder if things would have turned out differently for my dad if he would have had other men to pour into his life as an adult, if he would have had other men to help him through the struggles and addictions he faced and that ultimately led to him taking his own life.  A community of men, a band of brothers, so to speak who would stand toe to toe with each other and hold each other accountable when they saw each other getting off track.  All of these issues and problems mentioned above is why The RE:sist Movement exists.  It is our mission as an organization to walk alongside the local church to accomplish several goals.  Those goals include creating mentorship type relationships between Christian men and teenage boys between the ages of 13 and 18, creating a sense of community among men by organizing different types of sporting events and outdoor activities, and helping establish discipleship programs between new male believers in the Christian faith and men who have been walking with Christ for many years.  While our mission is already underway, we need your help to make our efforts go even further!

Your support is crucial in our efforts to help men, young and old, to become a part of a community that can help them to become healthy in their relationships with friends and family, and to help them become everything God wants them to be in life.  You can help us further this mission by becoming a volunteer, being a group leader, or generously donating whatever amount God lays on your heart to The RE:sist Movement, and Help us to change the world by furthering this movement among men that will change lives all across the globe.
